Wanda Lou Boyd's Obituary
Our beloved Wanda entered heaven on February 21, 2021 reuniting with her loving husband Jack. Wanda was born in San Juan, Texas on October 23, 1929 to Louis Clifton Barber and Jane Etta Barber. She married Jack Boyd and settled down to raise her family in San Juan, later moving to Pharr where she lived and thrived for the next 60 years. Early in her life she worked as secretary at the Texas Highway Department. Wanda and Jack spent much of their time at their cabin on the Arroyo Colorado and enjoyed entertaining family and friends which usually included fish fry's and playing card games. Her passion for cards and bunco were only surpassed by her love of line dancing culminating with her becoming an instructor at the local senior community center. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and she will be greatly missed. Wanda was preceded in death by her husband Jack Alfred Boyd, parents Louis Clifton Barber and Jane Etta Barber, brother's Don Barber and Jim Barber. Wanda is survived by her beloved sister's Jane Pond of Boerne, Texas, Bonnie Hurn of Montgomery, Texas, her son Ron Boyd, wife Sherry of Katy, Texas, her daughter Melinda Weikel, husband Gary of Westhoff, Texas. Grandchildren Amy Sexton (Eric), Holly Puryear (Joseph), Rob Garza (Aracely), Brittany Garza and Andrew Weikel. Great Grandchildren Caroline Sexton, James Sexton, Charlotte Sexton and Greyson Garza. Visitation will be held on Saturday March 6, 2021 from noon till 2:00. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 on Saturday March 6, 2021 at Aurora Funeral Home Sam Houston 706 W. Sam Houston Blvd., Pharr Texas. Burial will be at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in McAllen, Texas. Services are entrusted to Aurora Funeral Home Sam Houston of Pharr.
