Virginia Valdez's Obituary
Virginia Salazar Valdez, 94 passed away on September 28, 2024, at the Briarcliff Nursing and
Rehab Center. She was born on March 23, 1930, in Hidalgo, TX. The daughter of Jesus Salazar
and Maria Reyna Gonzales. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband,
Jose Galvan Valdez, one daughter Maria Rosario Serna, two sons, Hector Felix Serna and Joe
Salazar Valdez, a sister, Maria Lopez.
Surviving children are Juan Serna, Jesse (Marta) Valdez, George (Irene) Valdez, Mary (George)
Morr, Robert (Anna) Valdez, Maria (Chris) Thayer, Tony (Kimberly) Valdez, Janie (Darin) Witt,
and 27 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to acknowledge the wonderful staff at Briarcliff Nursing and Rehab Center
in McAllen who loved and cared for our mother.
Those who Virginia touched are invited to the Aurora Funeral Home, 706 West Sam Houston,
Pharr, TX on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, from 6 pm to 8 pm and the funeral service on
Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at 2 pm at Greater Life Tabernacle, 3611 S. Veterans Blvd,
Edinburg, TX.
