SAN JUANITA FUENTES's Obituary
Edinburg – San Juanita Fuentes Rodriguez, 73 was welcomed home by our blessed mother of Guadalupe on Monday, December 12, 2022 surrounded by the love of her four surviving children. She was preceded in death by her husband, Agustin Fuentes; son, Jaime A. Fuentes; parents, Juan & Consuelo Rodriguez; brother, Pablo Rodriguez; sister, Alicia Santillan Rodriguez. She is survived by her son, Juan (Edith) Fuentes; daughters, Sonia (Oscar) Arambula, Silvia (Gilbert Jr.) Alvarado, Aleida (Robert) Boles; 11 grandchildren, Eric, Jaime Jr., John, Angelina, Gilbert III, Anissa, Gabriel, Michael, Karina, Diego, Andrew. She was born and raised in Rio Bravo, Tamaulipas. As a young Catholic woman, she enjoyed being part of her parish where she met her husband of 32 years, Agustin. In 1973 they moved to Dallas, Texas where they continued their growing family. San Juanita was always a homemaker and later volunteered at PSJA as a parent volunteer and counseled troubled youth. Her strong faith led her on annual pilgrimages to San Juan de Los Lagos. She was an avid sports watcher, especially when her children or grandchildren played. The loudest cheerleader, she enjoyed attending football, baseball track & field events and personally watched soccer and of course The Dallas Cowboys. A devout follower of Virgen de Guadalupe, San Juanita went to be with God and our mother Mary on December 12, 2022. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at Aurora Funeral Home Sam Houston from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral mass will be held on Friday, December 16, 2022 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Edinburg at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. Services are entrusted to Aurora Funeral Home Sam Houston 706 W. Sam Houston in Pharr.
