Florencio Barrera
Sepi was a good man and friend of my father Florencio Barrera. When my Dad was in Vietnam in 1967-1968 I was 7-8 years old. Alone, I somehow decided to walk the few blocks to Sepi’s and went inside. Sepi recognized me and greeted me like a relative. Then he took me outside and walked hand in hand with me to La Panederia down the street. He bought me a piece of sweet bread and even let me choose what I wanted. We then sat at a table to eat and he TALKED to me, then sent me home. I know my Mom wasn’t happy when I told her what I had done, but Sepi took care of me and I still remember it. My Dad is 96 at the time of this writing and has memories of Sepio and Sepi’s. -Florencio Jr.
