RODNEY C. ROBIE's Obituary
Pharr - Rodney Curtis (R.C.) Robie was called home to the Lord on May 8, 2017 at his residence in Pharr, TX. R.C. was a lifelong resident of the Rio Grande Valley except for his service in the U.S. Navy from 1958-1961. He spent over 40 years working in the ready-mix business across the Valley and was known by the many friends he made as "Easy" or "Robie". He was a member of the Hidalgo County Builders Association where he received the "Head Cook & Bottle Washer" award for his contributions at the annual bar b ques. As a member of the Rio Grande Valley Chapter of AGC in 1990 he received the "Wild Thing" award. R.C. was a Paul Harris Fellow in Rotary International and in 1995 received the Rotarian of the Year award from the Pharr Rotary Club. He was loved by his family and the numerous friends he made through the years. RC was preceded in death by his parents, Glen R. and Maysie M. Robie and brother Robert L. (Bob) Robie. He is survived by his wife, Olivia Robie of Pharr. His sister Glenda Berthold (John)of San Antonio, his children T.J. Robie of College Station and Julie Robie of San Juan. Stepchildren Melissa Sakata (Scott) Reedly CA, Sylvia Hinojosa of Pharr, Ruben Garza (Suzie) of San Antonio, Iris Terry (Travis)of San Antonio and Dr. Joey Garza (Xenia) of Weslaco. Grandchildren Joshua Adame, Jacob, Marcus and Simon Hinojosa, Jude, Xayda, Jiada and Xienna Garza, Trace III, Jade and Pillar Garza, Matthew Sakata, Isaiah Perez, great granddaughter Mackenzie Hinojosa and numerous nieces and nephews. Rodney, my husband, friend, my love. We shared beautiful memories with family and friends. You would tell me no one ever loved me more than you. I was special to you. You loved my children like your own. The grandchildren were our grandchildren plus a great grandchild too! I am happy to have been there for you when the Lord called you home. God Bless You, Olivia Visitation and celebration of life will be held Sunday, May 14 at 6 pm at Aurora Funeral Home,706 W. Sam Houston Pharr TX. Interment services will be 2 pm Monday, May 15 2017 at the Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission TX. Services are entrusted to Aurora Funeral Home Sam Houston of Pharr.
