Maria Tovar Chavez's Obituary
Maria Tovar Chavez age 83, entered eternal rest Thursday January 25, 2024 at Rio Grande Regional. She was born August 24, 1940 in Weslaco Texas daughter of (+)Juanita Tovar and (+)Santiago Tovar. She married (+)Guadalupe Chavez November 8, 1959 until his passing in April 26, 2003. She enjoyed more years of happiness with (+)Seneido Rodriguez until his death on September 24, 2020. Some of her favorite hobbies were crocheting, and tending to her many succlents. She enjoyed to read and play upwords. She is survived by her children Joel Chavez, Cecilia Jaspers (Andrew), Lucia Sands (Steve), Manuel Chavez (Belinda), Alfredo Chavez, Lupe Chavez, Debbie Ruiz (daugher in law), (+)Alicia Chavez, (+)Adrian Chavez. She is also survived by her caregiver Ana Padron who she loved dearly. Her brothers and sisters Irene Doty, Jesusa Davis, Elisa Prieto, Carlos Cruz, Antonio Cruz, Daniel Cruz, Elida Brockington, Teresa Temple, Ramiro Cruz, Lorenzo Cruz, Arnulfo Cruz, (+)Jorge Cruz, (+)Sylvia Cruz, 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday January 30, 2024 from 10:00am. to 1:00pm. followed by burial at Hidalgo City Cemetery in Hidalgo. Funeral services are entrusted by Aurora Funeral Sam Houston in Pharr, Texas.
