MARIA BAUDILIA PEREZ HERNANDEZ's Obituary
EDINBURG - Maria Baudilia Perez Hernandez, age 86, was called to be with the Lord on Friday, April 1, 2022, at Edinburg Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. She was a resident of Windsor Arbor View. Born and raised in Edinburg, the daughter of Severo and Matiana Perez, she was a lifelong resident of Edinburg. She is preceded in death by her husband, Antonio Hernandez, her parents Severo and Matiana Perez; brothers, Humberto (Maria +) Perez, Joe G. (Ana+) Perez, and Arnoldo (Virginia +) Perez; and sisters, Dora (Perez) Gilliland, Maria O. Perez, and Norma (Noe+) Larralde. She is survived by her sister Frances I. (Juan) Leija, and many nieces and nephews.
She graduated from Edinburg High School in 1955 and attended Valley Baptist Nursing School where she earned her nursing degree in 1960. She worked at McAllen Regional Hospital and at various nursing homes caring for patients for over 30 years. She was often referred to as “mom” by her colleagues. Mrs. Hernandez was an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Edinburg. Her passion was spending time with her family and friends, and enjoyed traveling.
Viewing for family and friends will take place starting at 8:00 am on Wednesday, April 7, 2022, also a rosary will be recited at Aurora Funeral Home in Pharr (706 W. Sam Houston Blvd.) Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow to Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Edinburg. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Aurora Funeral Home Sam Houston.
