Leonel Garza, Sr. was born on August 25th,1931 in Donna,Texas and died August 31st, 20017 in San Juan, Texas after a short illness.
Mr.Garza was a longtime local businessman in the the Rio Grande Valley.At one time , he owned several businesses including 3 major brand gasoline station,2 taxi service companies, a bus transportation company,2 taverns, and a small Mexican restaurant;but his biggest contribution n to the Rio Grande valley was introducing the affordable used car business model into the valley market. Mr. Garza was a pioneer in this market,he introduced mechanically sound and affordable used car and truck to the Rio Grande Valley by importing vehicles from the big dealership in Houston,San Antonio and Austin ares. As other enter the used car business in the Rio Grande valley,Mr.Garza developed and introduced many innovations into the market that kept his businesses on top most of this competitors. At one time, he owned and drove his own automobile transport 18-wheeler so he could avoid passing high transportation cost to his customers. He hired top mechanics to make necessary repairs to his vehicles before showcasting them for sale to the public. Mr Garza developed many long-lasting relationship with many businessman across the Rio Grande Valley and in many of the cities north of the Valley.
