Jose Maria "Tio Pepe" Deluna's Obituary
Jose Maria Deluna, known to all as "Tio Pepe", was born May 29, 1935 in Mission and passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was a United States Army Veteran. He was preceded in death by his son, Gary Wayne Deluna; parents, Refugio & Canuta Deluna; brothers, Domingo Deluna, Francisco Deluna, Julian Deluna, & Arturo Deluna; sisters, Bertha Pena, Concepcion Guerrero, & Amalia Deluna. He is survived by his loving wife, Maria de la Paz Deluna; sons Ricardo (Linda) Deluna, & Antonio (Michelle) Deluna; beloved nephew whom he loved as a son, Armando Jose Acosta; daughter Cheryl France; brother Ricardo Deluna; sister, Ana Lopez; 5 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces & nephews. Visitation will be held today, Tuesday. April 24, 2018 at Aurora Funeral Home Sam Houston, 706 W. Sam Houston in Pharr, from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hidalgo at 12:00 PM. Burial with military honors, conducted by VFW Post 8788 will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Pallbearers will be Armando Jose Acosta, Rosendo Ramirez Jr., Rene Ramirez, Roberto Ramirez, Rolando Ramirez, & Ricardo Ramirez. Services are entrusted to Aurora Funeral Home Sam Houston in Pharr.
