Hazel Elaine Foster's Obituary
Jesus came and got Hazel Elaine Foster on Easter, Sunday, April 1, 2018 at 6:40 pm at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen. She was born in McAllen to Elmer & Hazel Anderson on August 2, 1921. She married John Clayton Foster on May 18, 1940.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer & Hazel Anderson in 1955 & 1964 respectively, her husband Clayton Foster in 1990, brothers Donald L. Anderson of San Juan in 1996 & Harold Jackson of Alamo in 1964.
Known affectionately by her nieces & nephews and extended family as "Ma Bear", Elaine loved her Lord, enjoyed doing crafts and was very talented. She was always a kid at heart.
She sold Avon for many years & won many awards, was in San Juan Music Club, and was talented pianist & seamstress, not to forget her famous delicious tacos.
Later in life after moving to Retama Manor Nursing Home, she continued to do various crafts for many years and do her best to run the place and was the Valentine Queen.
She is survived by her two sons, Larry Foster of Alamo, daughter-in-law, Majina Foster of McAllen and Donald Lynn Foster and wife Debbie of Denton, TX, sister, Irene Jackson Lazar of Montello, WI and sister-in-law Marilyn Anderson of San Juan and many nieces & nephews & extended family.
Visitation will be held today, Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at Aurora Funeral Home Sam Houston, 706 W. Sam Houston in Pharr, from 8:00 am to 9:45 am. A chapel service will begin at 10:00 am, burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in McAllen. Services are entrusted to Aurora Funeral Home Sam Houston
