George McKinney.'s Obituary
Mr. George McKinney, age 80, passed away March 19, 2021. He was born in Lincoln, Illinois, February
11, 1941 and resided in Pharr since 1994. George served in the Marines from 1950 to 1964 (4 years in
Southeast Asia). In 1965, he joined the Foreign Service, a branch of the Federal Government and served
26 exciting years at overseas posts around the world before retiring in 1992. George also worked for
Argus Security Systems and Mike’s Valley Band Service in McAllen. He is survived by his wife of 56 years,
Kathleen McKinney; two daughters, Carla Dreher (T. J.), Angela Losieniecki (Robert); five grandsons –
Joshua, David, Elijah, Aaron, Alexander and four great-grandsons. George is also survived by five nieces
and four nephews, in-laws and most likely, some outlaws. He has chosen cremation without visitation or
a memorial service. Arrangements have been entrusted to Aurora Funeral Home Sam Houston of Pharr.
