Shelia and I were good friends in high school, Brad I only knew as someone she thought was pretty terrific--and she was right.

In his last couple of years he began to send some of us his writings about his life both as a youngster and beyond high school and university. His writings showed him to be witty, entertaining and intelligent and those of us who received his reminisces shared in the adventures of his, and his and Shelia's life. And what an interesting life it was.

He will be missed.

We sat in Miss Carter's senior English class, Brad, Sheila and me. They were together, and she was forever laughing at something he said. I never knew either of them well, but they were nuts about each other and fun to be around.

These last months, several in our class came to know Brad through his entertaining writings. He thought like an engineer and even wrote like one. His essays were quite pleasurable to read. He possessed the most astute eye for detail and powerful observations. The reader truly felt like he was a part of whatever experience that Brad was writing about.

I asked him more than once to share his writings on the SFA website.....I see now that Brad was a very private person. I will miss him.
